NAVAL RESEARCH LAB (NRL) SELECTS V-TECH SOLUTIONS FOR SOFTWARE CERTIFICATION & ACCREDITATION SERVICES (MARCH 2007)

V-Tech was awarded a Sole Source award to provide technical support for Information Assurance (IA) of all IT components under purview of the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) through 2010. Requirements include, but are not limited to, support for Information Systems (ISs) Certification and Accreditation (C&A), testing, technical, administrative, training, operational and maintenance support, and database development, management, modification and input of information in support of C&A for NRL computer systems and networks.

Information Assurance activities performed by V-Tech include measures that protect and defend information and information systems by ensuring their availability, integrity, authentication, confidentiality, and non-repudiation. This includes providing for restoration of information systems by incorporating protection, detection, and reaction capabilities. IT and IA support is not limited to various devices, i.e., firewalls, routers, switches/hubs, printers, RAID arrays, etc.; various technology, i.e., wireless, blackberry, VOIP, LAN, WAN, etc.; various operating systems, i.e., Windows-based, UNIX-based, Linux-based, Macintosh-based, RAID arrays, network management applications and other IT and IT-related technology. V-Tech maintains and operates the NRL Information Assurance Web Portal (SECWEB database) that supports end users and managers in the procedures and supporting documentation necessary to achieve accreditation, security guidelines, system administrator tools and security requirements.
